Agus; Free Press, Div.  of Simon and Schuster, NY, 2011  Recent discoveries and research into the human genome and proteins confirms many of our beliefs about health, and adds new perspectives about disease prevention.  Exercise continues to be seen as perhaps the most significant single factor in health and preventing disease.

Gross National Happiness  by Arthur C. Brooks, Basic Books, NY, 2008  This is a very different perspective on happiness in that the author looks at happiness from a broad social view.  Happiness is influenced by culture, economics, opportunity, and other factors that government policies can affect. The Social Animal, by David Brooks; Random House, NY, 2011.  David Brooks, using scientific studies, creates a story using stereotypical fictional characters who exemplify how and why people behave the way they do.  A very interesting book and a great complement or "sequel" to  Why we make Mistakes.

Why We Make Mistakes

Why We Make Mistakes by Joseph Hallinan; Broadway Books, NY, 2009   Joseph Hallinan creates captivating insight into our many foibles and why we behave in error-prone ways.  The book is fascinating and an easy, quick, memorable read.  It's an eye opener and is likely to stimulate the reader to make some behavioral changes. READ IT!

The Successful Retirement Guide

The Successful Retirement Guide, by R. Kevin Price, Rainbow Books, 2009 is a compilation of hundreds of ideas for retirement.  If a person has no idea about what to do during retirement, this offers some suggestions.  It includes resources and websites for those who want to research something new, as well as for those already pursuing the activity and want more information. -N
